On January 23, 1972, with 36 seconds left in the game that pitted the home team Minnesota Golden Gophers verses the Ohio Buckeyes turned ugly as Ohio’s center Luke Witte was fouled hard going up for a layup. Minnesota’s Corky Taylor quickly helped Witte to his feet only to knee him in the groin. An ugly brawl ensued. Section championship game. The catcher was running up the line, i knocked him out literally and got ejected. Mariposa Grizzlies (my team!) ended up smashing them that game and i got a giant bad ass ring to prove it haha!
