Acetylene-filled balloons are a good way to blow out windows in a shop. Ask me how I know…………….

so then why do the ones with more more hydrogen have more calorific value if the triple bonded ones are more reactive.

Five stars great presentation and lecture.
Why didn’t my chem teachers do this?

fuck chem lab, i have my own torch set, i get to play with acetylene whenever the hell i want =]
haha its funny when cutting pipes, and tube metal, cause if you just got up and arnt really paying attention, and angle it wrong, get it too close, w.e
sometime the flame will go out
and start to fill the pipe
then reignite from the sparking pipe
and send the thing flying across the room if your not using clamps, vise, etc xD

i think we did this in our chem lab, but with really small amt of c=c (that’s 3 bonds)

just become a welder if you like this kind of stuff you have to work with actylene and propane all the time and can experiance things like that first hand but you dont get an explosion instead you get alot of heat and can cut steel with it.
