Here is the aftermath of my motorcycle accident which occurred in December of 2008. It resulted in 9 hours in the ER and a broken right scapula and a bit of road rash. I was wearing full gear so I consider myself pretty lucky.
Blast, Crash, BLAM!

Yes, I’m glad you were. Consider saving money for the bike mantainace, even if it means buying less knives each month…

I am not golden glove quality like you but I made a one arm fighting video for you today .

No problem man, I look forward to seeing some more videos of yours!

Thanks jhicks. I wonder if it is better that the scapula is mainly attached with muscles than with bone… It should make the healing process a little more interesting.

Haha yes I am really glad I followed my advice. My knee would have been MESSED UP!
Anonymous 12.18.08 at 1:38 am
Well I’m hoping I have a bit better luck with my shoulder than you did with your foot. It would suck if I was never able to properly punch again. Hah, maybe you could make some videos demonstrating what you can do to defend yourself with only your left hand? I feel like I could jab pretty well, and I always carry a knife with me, but I rarely practice with my left. I guess it’s time to start

Yep that is great advice. I just though my margin of safety was greater than it was, I’m just glad I was wearing full gear.

Haha I know I should. I was actually invited to go on a TV show a few days ago and throw knives but I had to turn them down because I can’t throw with my left hand. Bummer huh?

Well it was kind of a high side, basically the bike just fell on its side at 30mph. The bike wasn’t behind me or in front of me, just to the side. That being said, I have highsided before at like 20mph and it was NOT fun.

Was it a high side wreck? Those are terrible! Regardless, a crash always shakes you. Get riding again as soon as you can!

..oh~god………..

I guess you could learn how to throw knives with your left hand and make another “how to” video.

Get better. I’m not a motorcycle driver yet, but plan to be : one of the most important things I’ve been told is to always think “This is day I’m having and accident”, so you are always ready (wearing the right clothes, the bike always in prime condition and driving safe)

Ben I love your videos bro 5 stars. I am sorry you got all busted up. Hey bro I don’t mean to put a downer on your healing process but they told me 2 months with my foot and a year and a half later and it being misdiagnosed 6 times I am probably having surgery in the new year. I am glad you are okay though. I remember your motorcycle gear safety video and obviously it helped you . Nice ending of the vid with the pity part and music and the the Dilaudid that stuff is strong.
Get better
Rick

Yes you are very right. I see people speeding down the road in just jeans and a jacket and a helmet. I just wonder how badly they are going to get messed up if they get into an accident. It’s good your smart unlike others. Oh and i watched your video on your motorcycle equipment and i was thinking about how you showed what would happen if you just wore jeans and they got rocked. It’s good you take your own advice haha

You can get a decent used motorcycle for 2000-5000 dollars. My bike cost me 3800 when I bought it.
